Mario Tennis – a popular tennis video game for the sports game lovers
Mario Tennis, popularly known as Mario Tennis 64 in Japan, is a product by Camelot Software Planning. Nintendo publishes the game exclusively for the Nintendo 64 console in 2000 in North America and Japan. The Game Boy Color version was released in November 2000 in Japan and both in North America and Europe in 2001. It was a huge success that brought three sequels, Mario Power Tennis, Mario Tennis Open and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash. These three sequels were released in 2004, 2012 and 2015 respectively. The tennis-themed is was the second game from Camelot Software Planning for a Nintendo system. This game introduced Waluigi and also includes other characters, Princess Daisy, Shy Guy, Donkey Kong, Wario and Birdo. Seeing the vast demand for the Mario tennis 64 rom, it was released on Wii virtual console in 2010.

Transfer Pak enabling compatibility:
This game enables players to import characters and data from a GBC version to the Nintendo 64 game using the Transfer Pak. This compatibility between the two versions is similar to the Mario Golf GBC rom. There are a variety of courts to unlock once the Nintendo version is linked with the Game Boy Color version. However, in virtual consoles, the function to unlock extra characters, as well as courts, is no longer available.
The Mario Tennis 64 ROM Gameplay:
The control mechanics in the Mario tennis 64 rom is quite different from the other tennis games in the similar category. The shots can be played by using any one or both the buttons A & B. Pressing both the buttons simultaneously for a longer period of time can produce a powerful shot. If you press the buttons in different orders, different types of shots will come about. Therefore using these two main buttons in various ways, seven types of different shots are available in the game. The Mario Tennis game is simple but you will want to practice to master the game multiple times. Fans love the gameplay mechanics in all the different sequels available.
In the Game Boy Color version, an RPG mode appears which is not present in the Nintendo 64 version. This mode provides training facilities to help the player to progress in his game and participate in various tournaments. Both single player and the double player options are available for this mode where the players need to play separately.
